A police officer was stabbed in Brussels, Belgium last week (Tuesday 20 November). The attacker, Issam T., had just been released from prison and was yelling “Allahu Akbar”, according to witnesses. The political class declared the incident to be ‘not terror-related’ immediately after it happened, but ultimately an investigation into a possible terrorist motive has been opened by Belgian police.
The victim was attacked out of nowhere and stabbed in the neck. The assailant was shot down and arrested quickly thereafter. Issam T. was already known to police for violent attacks and weapons deals. He attacked a prison warden with a pair of scissors during one of his stays in prison four years ago.
Prisons are notorious breeding grounds for islamic extremism.
