The French national news channel France 3 manipulated footage to edit a protester’s sign at a ‘Yellow Vests’ protest. The actual sign called on Macron to resign (“Macron degage”), but when its image is shown as a studio backdrop it only reads “Macron”.
A spokesperson for France 3 has said the edit was not done intentionally, but was in fact a human error. Seems like a pretty specific error, and sounds a lot more like they were actually hoping to not get caught. Old media dinosaurs are still adjusting to the internet age. Or already preparing for the ‘sanitized internet’ age.
Mais non, dites moi que je rêve, #France3 a vraiment modifié une pancarte "Macron dégage" dans son jt, c'est hallucinant !
