Jihadist arrested for plotting to murder Wilders had an accomplice. Police failed to inform Counter Terrorism agency

When a Pakistani jihadist was arrested for planning a terrorist attack on Geert Wilders last August, the justice department ‘forgot’ to notify the National Counter Terrorism Coordinator that the suspect’s traveling partner was equally dangerous. Wilders and his security detail were not aware that there may be an islamic extremist at large here, who has traveled to The Netherlands specifically with the aim of assassinating Wilders. Wilders was never officially informed and heard of this news through the media instead of the responsible agencies. It was Wilders himself who had to inform the National Counter Terrorism Coordinator.

The public prosecutor’s office was already aware of the presence of a second suspect. Police believe that the second suspect was aware of the plans for a terrorist attack, and possibly would participate.
