Several experts are warning that the Dutch IRS (Belastingdienst) is about to collapse. Their computer systems are failing to the point that it will be impossible to implement new tax laws at all in the next two years. Manual controls and investigations are under pressure, because the agency is also understaffed and struggling to find new employees.
Former members of government and tax experts are sounding the alarm, asking why there are no crisis talks or interventions from government.
Considered the “most important” agency for the government, as it is used to steal / acquire the government’s income, government appears unable to keep even that running adequately.
