The Netherlands: young Muslims go on youth trips to radical imam, organized by Turkish islamic network

A Turkish islamic network in Europe has been organizing youth trips for young Muslims in The Netherlands to a radical imam, who preaches armed jihad, justifies violence against women, and has declared that men are allowed to marry girls as young as six years old.

The organization, Milli Görüs, is one of the biggest islamic networks in Europe, but is active across the west, including in the US and Australia. It is known to be very conservative and used to be overtly anti-western, although it has now changed its focus to integrate islam and its followers into western societies. In The Netherlands alone, Milli Görüs consists of around fifty organizations.

It is currently unknown whether the youth trips are still taking place and local governments in The Netherlands, although “concerned” about the news, say they have no legal means to stop it.
