University professor celebrates attempted assassination of Brazilian right-wing leader

The motto of the mainstream left might as well be ‘terrorism is OK as long as it’s our guys killing their guys’ by now. After the attempted assassination of Brazil’s popular right-wing presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro, former Drexel University professor and now NYU associate George Ciccariello-Maher tweeted that his day had gone from “good” to “great” because of it.

Remember all the mainstream right-wingers celebrating Gabrielle Giffords was shot? Me neither, but that was probably just because it didn’t happen.

Both sides have their morons and extremists – the main differences, the extremist morons on the left have blue check marks, hold key positions in societal institutions and are basically in charge of forgiving other left-wing morons for their extremism. Those on the right are mostly in their basements, utterly devoid of mainstream support.

Ciccariello-Maher is not a one-time occasion extremist. He wrote in Salon that “Riots work” (which, in all fairness, is true – it’s just not good that it is) and on Christmas Eve 2016, he tweeted “All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide.” He was placed on administrative leave by Drexel University and resigned, because (as cited on Wikipedia) “nearly a year of harassment by right-wing, white supremacist media outlets and Internet mobs, after death threats and threats of violence directed against me and my family.” Because like I said, terrorism is only fun when it goes their way.

Also from Wikipedia: “in January 2018, Cicarriello-Maher announced on Facebook that he was now a visiting scholar at New York University’s Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics.”

In fairness: Twitter actually suspended his account for his tweet celebrating the attempted murder of Bolsonaro. But Maher is already back on the platform and is continuing his support for far-left terrorism:
