Syrian Husein A., once a respected spokesperson for the interests of Syrian refugees, fled the US when he was suspected of sexual child abuse. The victim’s father pulled out all the stops in an effort to track him down, which finally led to Husein A.’s arrest in The Netherlands this week. A. had entered the country posing as a refugee. He is now in a jail cell awaiting extradition.
He managed to stay in The Netherlands for almost two years undetected, and passed a check by Immigration Services.
